Terms of Service
Last updated: November 5, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using SaddleMap (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
SaddleMap is an informational directory of equine events and businesses. Listings come from organizers, community members and public or licensed data sources. Businesses may host listed events; SaddleMap does not organize, host or endorse them.
3. Accounts
Accounts on the website and mobile app are available only to people aged 13 or older. You must confirm this during onboarding. Anyone may browse without signing in.
You are responsible for your account and for activity under it. Provide accurate information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.
4. User content
You retain ownership of content you submit, including listings, reviews and photos. You grant SaddleMap a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute that content in connection with the Service.
You must have the right to submit your content and it must not be unlawful, misleading, infringing or abusive. We may remove content at our discretion.
5. No scraping or automated data collection
The SaddleMap database, including its selection, arrangement and compilation of listings, is protected by copyright, database rights and other laws. Without our prior written permission you may not:
(a) scrape, crawl, spider or harvest data from the Service by any automated means, including bots, scripts, headless browsers and AI or data-collection tools; (b) systematically copy, download, extract, store or re-publish listings, coordinates, contact details, photos or other content; (c) use the Service or its content to build, train or improve a competing directory, dataset or machine-learning model; (d) bypass rate limits, access controls or technical protections, or use the API other than as we expressly permit; or (e) resell or commercially exploit the data.
Ordinary, individual, non-automated browsing is permitted. Third-party source data we display remains subject to its own licence; see Data attribution. To request permission for data access, contact us through the Help form.
We may block access, and pursue legal remedies including injunctive relief and damages, for violations.
6. Acceptable use
Do not interfere with or disrupt the Service, attempt unauthorized access, upload malware, impersonate others, or use the Service for unlawful purposes.
7. Accuracy and safety
Dates, locations, prices, hours and other details change and may be incomplete or wrong. Verify with the organizer or business before you travel. Horse activities carry inherent risks; you participate at your own risk.
8. Third-party services and links
The Service uses third-party services such as Google Maps, Auth0 and OpenAI, and links to external sites. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
9. Intellectual property
The SaddleMap name, logo, software and design are owned by us or our licensors. Except as these Terms allow, you may not copy or use them without permission.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SaddleMap and its owners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to US$100.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold SaddleMap harmless from claims and expenses arising from your content, your use of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
13. Privacy and cookies
Our Privacy page explains how we handle information. Analytics and referral tracking are used only if you accept them in the cookie notice, and you can change your choice any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer.
14. Changes and termination
We may change the Service or these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept them. We may suspend or end access at any time.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which SaddleMap is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that state have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the law requires otherwise.
16. Contact
Questions about these Terms: use the Help contact form.
17. SMS Terms
SaddleMap is the service identified as Saddle Map App in our SMS registration.
SaddleMap offers optional texts for saved-event reminders and event changes or cancellations. Verify a mobile number you control, then separately opt in to each category in Notifications. Verification alone does not subscribe you to event alerts. Consent is not a condition of purchase or use of SaddleMap.
Message frequency varies with your saved events and selections. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. You can also change your selections or remove your number in Notifications. Reply START to resume previously selected categories, then review your selections in Notifications.
Text delivery is subject to carrier and service availability and is not guaranteed. Do not rely on text alerts as an emergency service or as the sole source of event information. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. For assistance, use the SaddleMap Help contact form. Our Privacy page explains how mobile numbers and consent records are handled.
